High-tech robots for the waste and recycling industry

New MRF facility installed in Skien

2024-12-12: The world's first AI-based robot sorting facility for sorting of household waste is now up and running in Skien. In the first test runs we have already sorted out over 30% ! Far more than initially expected.
Now another step towards the green shift has been taken! More precise results will come.

Agreement between JSC "Motecha" and Tandberg Engineering AS

2024-09-04: Tandberg Engineering AS has entered into a dealer agreement with Lithuanian Motecha, a technical engineering company that develops innovative technical and structural solutions for waste management, secondary raw material sorting and recycling of plastics etc. The agreement gives Tandberg Engineering the right to distribute Motecha's products in the Norwegian market and thus expand the competitive opportunity in this field. - We look forward to this in the future, and we have faith in many good solutions, says CEO, Tandberg Engineering, Jørn Tandberg.

Now robots controlled by artificial intelligence can sort out plastic from discarded cars

2024-04-05: AUTORETUR - the car industry's own recycling company - writes this on their website:

"Everyone is talking about the plastic. The car recycling industry can do and already does something about the raw material. The EU's requirements for plastic recycling, reuse of plastic parts and handling of plastic waste are changing.

In short: In the future we will have to sort and reuse plastic waste."

In the videos, Sindre Hauen, Executive Director of Bjorstaddalen Næring AS and Jørn Tandberg from Tandberg Engineerig AS talk about how robots can be trained to recognize and sort plastics using AI (Artificial Intelligence/AI). In cooperation with the Finnish company ZenRobotics, a Terex brand, they believe they have solved the plastic challenge.

In late summer 2024, Tandberg Engineering is well underway with the installation of Norway's first and largest MRF plant to be set up in Skien.

AI robots in new and cost-effective technology

2023-09-06: We and ZenRobotics are naturally very proud to have entered into a contract with Bjorstaddalen Næring AS for a specially adapted factory for sorting residual waste from households. The facility will be delivered and completed in Bjorstaddalen, Skien municipality by the end of 2024.

This new and cost-effective technology with the use of AI robots solves many challenges with sorting different waste fractions.
We wish Bjorstaddalen Næring the best of luck with their project.
